penzance tobacco in stock

I have every intention of keeping this on hand. Not a bad thing when judged in a vacuumand probably great with an Islay maltbut not the finely layered and sophisticated flavor palette which I was led to expect. No, there is not. Latakia lover should not try it 'cos it may run out of stockthen you are in trouble! But if you want a rich, smooth, flavorful tobac that never disappoints..this is the one. Odyssey, Larry's Blend, and Frog Morton eah have so much latakia you can often taste nothing else -- that's hardly the case here, and in fact there are time when I can barely detect latakia at all. There is no vanilla in the taste, only a strange interplay between the orientals and latakia. Aroma: Seems to be predominantly Cyprian Latakia, with a small percentage of Turkish. But, compared to your average medium - full English or Balkan, are they? I do not plan on giving up on Penzance and perhaps it will one day be as exciting to me as it is to many others and I will in time and with experience understand why. How disappointing. I'm not a fan of pineapples on pizza btw. Little slices of pure delight arranged in an orderly row like Redcoats on their battle line. I can tell you that this blend is so delicious and intoxicating that I get a great desire to physically eat the stuff it tasted and smells that great. There is mellowness and refinement here with some complexity waiting just below the surface. I've also gently inserted the "slices" into the bowl and twisted lightly, rubbed up the top a bit and smoked. 2. I bought 2 or 3 parcels of this tobacco from a friend, all of them over 5 years old. I read the reviews and ran out to buy a tin. This is not an everyday smoke for me only because I prefer not to taste my pipe the entire next day - a latakia problem for me nothing against the tobacco. The Virginias provide a sweetness balancing it all out. The difficulty in obtaining this blend has elevated it to cult status. In the meanwhile, I had chased around for some Wessex's Dark Flake, Hamborger Veermaster and Germain's Balkan Sobranie. Very etheral, woodsy, slightly sour with some hint of floral notes to it. I am a latakia lover (no burley for me) so this flake is a perfect second to my FAVORITE blend Balkan Saiseini. Up to know I am not compleately convinces by this tabacco. Penzance is outstandingly rich, complex, and satisfying. You never know what you might get. Lots to enjoy here. Its more similar to Dunhills London Mixture or Standard Mixture than it is to Margate, however I find London Mixture much better than Penzance, since its more full bodied. This has been one of my favorites for years and is regularly in my rotation. While there is plenty of latakia, it is not overwhelming at all. I say that the room note is "Tolerable to Strong" based on what others (non-pipe-smokers) have said but, personally, I loved the smell when others have smoked it in my presence. It was everything that I could hope for in a blend. Simply the FINEST tobacco bar none on the American market today. This is a nice, full bodied blend very similar to Smokers Haven Krumble Kake and both are made by Germain so there ya go. This is a great tobacco. The bulk tobacco was a lot drier than the tin. It's hard to light this puppy up for the first time without having high expectations, given how much buzz it gets.
